This Friday an autopsy has been conducted on the body of mister Slobodan Praljak. Last Wednesday mister Praljak passed away in Westeinde hospital in The Hague after consuming a fluid substance in the courtroom of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Here his verdict was passed by the judges. At this point in the inquiry the first, preliminary results of the autopsy are known.
The preliminary results of the toxicological test showed that mister Praljak had a concentration of potassium cyanide in his blood. This has resulted in a failure of the heart, which is pointed out as the suspected cause of death.
Two Croatian experts were present during the autopsy. In agreement with the ICTY and the Croatian authorities they were admitted as observers to the autopsy.
