Your experiences in your home country can help bring criminals to justice. Perhaps you are aware of victims or perpetrators of international crimes currently in the Netherlands. This information can help us greatly in our efforts to combat international crimes.
Do you know someone who has committed international crimes?
And are you unsure what to do? The International Crimes Team, at the behest of the National Public Prosecution Service, investigates suspected war crimes, genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity. If the perpetrator is in the Netherlands, an investigation into their crimes can be launched. But even if the perpetrator has fled to another country, we can put your information to good use. In recent years, we have conducted investigations in many other countries, including Rwanda, Afghanistan, former Yugoslavia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Congo. And perpetrators of war crimes, genocide, and torture have been sentenced to prison for their crimes in Dutch courts.
Why does the International Crimes Team want you to read this?
We need your information to track down and prosecute perpetrators of international crimes. You may have information, for instance, on Dutch nationals involved in armed conflicts. Or perhaps you have been a victim of an international crime yourself. In all cases, we ask that you contact us, without any further obligations. Your information will of course be treated confidentially, and our investigation team will then determine what further steps should be taken with information you provide.
